

Concetta (Alicata) Zewinski, 85, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Donald A. Zewinski, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday (June 5, 2013) with her family by her side. Born on December 12, 1927 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Lucia (Buccheri) Alicata. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School. Prior to her retirement Concetta worked at Aetna for over 25 years and was also the President of D.D.J. Electrical Contractors. She was a faithful communicant of St. Augustine Church, Hartford. She was very proud of her roots in the South End of Hartford and loved sharing stories about growing up on Front Street. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, her family was the center of her life. Concetta raised four children and loved to cook big Italian meals for her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four devoted children, Donald A. Zewinski and his wife Patricia of Rocky Hill, Lori L. Zewinski of Wethersfield, Karen Burness and her husband Joseph of Rocky Hill and John D. Zewinski of Wethersfield. She was a loving grandmother to five adored grandchildren, Matthew Zewinski of Wethersfield, John, Daniel and Rachel Zewinski, all of Wethersfield and Scott Burness of Rocky Hill, and she also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will leave Monday at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
