

Daniel “Dan” A. Toce, 85, of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Hartford Hospital. Dan was the loving husband of 42 years to the love of his life, the late Nanci (Angeloni) Toce. Born in Hartford on August 6, 1940, a son of the late Dominic L. and Isabell M. (Negri) Toce, he was a lifelong resident of the Greater Hartford area. Dan was a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge #1893 in Manchester and a perfect attendance member of the Wethersfield/Rocky Hill Rotary Club.
Dan was an avid golfer and a member for over 40 years of the Oak Ridge Golf Club in Feeding Hills, MA with his very good friend, Bill Brennan. He was also a member of the Southend Wellness Center in Hartford where he could be found every day in the same seat. Dan was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees, Miami Dolphins, and UConn Women basketball teams. He also loved going to area casinos, solving crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dan is survived by his four caring daughters, Marina Adams and her husband Chris of Glastonbury, Gina Herboldt and her husband Jeff of Hartford, Lisa Beaupre (his favorite)of East Hartford, and Nicole McCann and her husband Steve of Manchester; a brother Richard J. Toce Sr. and his wife Patricia of Celebration, FL; and a sister Carol T. Krantz of Glastonbury. He also leaves his eight adored grandchildren, Christina Ireland and her husband John of Cromwell, Greg Adams and his wife Melissa Marsh of Wethersfield, Heather Papp and her husband Timothy of South Windsor, John Treviso of South Grafton, MA, Jamie Nolan of East Hartford, Tori Beaupre of Lehigh Acres, FL, Stephen McCann of Manchester, and Christopher Heffron of Rayne, LA; six cherished great-grandchildren, Aurora, John, Jacksin, Trevor, Marissa, and Lilith; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Dan was predeceased by two brothers, Dominic “Nicky” Toce of Hartford and Anthony Toce of Bloomfield; a sister-in-law, Anita Cox of Wethersfield; and a brother-in-law, Paul S. Krantz, Jr. of Glastonbury.
Funeral service will be Thursday (February 19th) at 12 noon at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Burial with military honors will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, (Section 27), Hartford. Dan’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday morning from 10:30 am to 12 noon at the funeral home chapel.
