

Richard H. DeFelice, ?Bo? of Wethersfield, husband of Maria Louise ?Mary Lou? (Battistone) DeFelice, peacefully went home to Jesus on Thursday, December 28, 2006, with his family by his side at home. Born in Hartford on May 26, 1923, he was the eighth child of Michael and Josephine (DelRosa) DeFelice. Richard was educated in the Hartford school system. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific, New Guinea and Southern Philippines during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0023 in Wethersfield. Richard was the production manager at Blue Bell (King Koil) Mattress Company for forty years, retiring in 1989. He especially enjoyed and loved the summers with his family in Old Saybrook. Win or lose, he was a dedicated New York Yankee fan. Besides his wife of 57 years, Richard leaves his daughters, Andrea Hagstrom and her husband, Daniel of Portland, Donna Ann DeFelice-Junk of Windsor, and his son, James R. and his wife Genevieve, a very special daughter-in-law, of Avon. Five grandchildren, Miranda, Zachary and Tyler Junk, and Jamie-Marie and Adam DeFelice. He also leaves three brothers and sisters in-law, George, Ralph and his wife Ann and Jack and his wife Norma and three sisters and a brother-in-law, Edith Breglia, Lillian and her husband Heinze Kahl and Barbara McLean and a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Thomas, Nicholas, Arthur, William and sister, Claire Gimmartino and son-in-law, Terry L. Junk. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 A.M. from the D?Esopo Funeral Chapel 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield with a Mass of Christian Burial 10 A.M. in Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield.
