
Elizabeth “Betty” (Parise) Hager, 81, of Farmington, passed away on Thursday (December 9, 2010). She was born in Middletown on April 14, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel (Davies) Parise. Betty lived in Connecticut her whole life with the exception of winters in Florida with her partner, Francis Mayeda. Betty retired early from Aetna Insurance Company to travel with Francis in the States and Europe, which were the happiest times of her life. Elizabeth is survived by three sons, Bruce Wittig of Stafford, Robert Wittig and his wife Vera Ann of Salem and Matthew Wittig of Farmington; her grandchildren, Dawn, James Jr., Melinda and Jessica as well as her great grandson, James III. She was predeceased by her son, John Wittig, her daughter, Mary Beth Ahern and her one and only brother, Russell Parise. At the request of Elizabeth, funeral services and burial are private.
