
Frank S. Carbone, 92, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Mary (Carella) Carbone and son of the late John and Margherita (Donadio) Carbone, passed away peacefully Sunday (January 6, 2008). He was born December 26, 1915 in Salandra, Italy and lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Hartford. Frank was a talented painter in his early years and then became a successful business owner of Carbone Power Equipment for more than 30 years, in which he partnered with his brother Mario, late brother Joseph and their father John. Frank proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II. Frank is survived by his son John Carbone of Newington; his two cherished granddaughters, Mrs. Stephanie LaPierre and Jillian Carbone and his great-granddaughter Brooke LaPierre. He also leaves a brother, Mario Carbone of Venice, FL, a sister, Beatrice Brian of Henniker, NH, sisters-in-law, Eleanor Colangelo and Helen Carella, and a brother-in-law John Carella. Funeral service will leave Thursday, January 10 at 9:15 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke's Church, Hartford. Burial with full military honors will follow at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be TODAY from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
