

Francis "" Uncle Frank"" Mizerek, 88, a lifelong resident of Hartford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Born on August 18, 1927, he was the son of the late Peter and Wladyslawa (Wozniak) Mizerek. He was a graduate of Hartford Public High School and went on to attend technical college. Frank was a proud U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after 33 years of dedicated service as a tool and die designer. He enjoyed traveling, walking, the sights of Hartford, classical music and listening to news on the radio. Frank always kept physically fit and regularly worked out at the YMCA in his younger years. A loving uncle, he will be dearly missed by his two nephews, Stanley Gutt of Hartford and Stephen Mizerek and wife Kathlene of Old Saybrook and three nieces, Monica Magee and husband Tom of Westerly, RI, Mary DiMauro and husband David of Wethersfield and Christine Tracy and husband Dwight of Marlborough. He was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Mizerek and sister, Mary Gutt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (November 21) at 11 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Family and friends may call prior to the Mass on Saturday morning, from 9-10:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Frank always cared for the cats in his neighborhood, especially his beloved Pussy Cat and Kitty Cat, so the family requests that donations in Frank's memory may be made to Protectors of Animals, 144 Main St., Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118.
