

Giovanni “John” Caporiccio, 61, of Wethersfield, beloved husband for 36 years of Tina (Carbone) Caporiccio, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Born in Fondi, Italy on November 21, 1962, he was the son of Lelia (LaRocca) Caporiccio of Glastonbury and the late Michael Caporiccio. John came to the U.S. in 1968. He grew up in New York graduating from Ithaca High School and earning his BA from Ithaca College, where he was a member of the crew team. He worked for many years as an underwriter at Travelers and CIGNA.
John and Tina were married in 1988 and settled in Wethersfield to raise their family. He was very active and enjoyed all sports, coaching his sons in basketball, soccer and baseball. John was an avid fan of heavy metal music and hair bands. More than anything, he loved his family and cherished time spent with them.
In addition to his loving wife Tina and his mother, John will be forever missed by his two sons, Adam Caporiccio and wife Brittany and Justin Caporiccio, both of Wethersfield and his adored grandson, Leo Caporiccio. He is also survived by three brothers, Andy Caporiccio and wife Debra of South Carolina, Frank Caporiccio and wife Judy of Pennsylvania and Tony Caporiccio and wife Debbie of Ellington and his brother-in-law, Frank Carbone and wife Kathy of Enfield, as well as many dear nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. John was a kind, friendly and outgoing soul who was completely unselfish and always put others first.

Calling hours will be Thursday, August 15 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 12 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
