

Giuseppe Mangiafico, 85, loving and devoted husband of Adriana (Mollica) Mangiafico for 53 years, died peacefully, Friday May 27, 2016 at home with his family by his bedside. He was born February 18, 1931 in Ragusa province of Siracusa, Sicily and was the son of the late Carmelo and Sebastiana (LaRosa) Mangiafico. He was an auto mechanic retiring many years ago. He enjoyed watching soccer and was a proud longtime member of the Italian American Stars. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, AnneMarie Calafiore and husband, Sebastiano of Rocky Hill, his son Carmelo Mangiafico and wife, Kathleen of Simsbury, grandchildren, Salvatore and Alexandra Calafiore and Jack, Cole and Daelan Mangiafico, his brother, Aldo Mangiafico and wife, Joan of Newington, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Liliana and Paul Bianca of Wethersfield, Rosario and Antonia Mollica of Rocky Hill and Melina Mangiafico in Floridia, Sicily as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Antonino Mangiafico. A very special thank you to the nurses at Masonic Care who provided care to Giuseppe during his illness, especially Erica. Funeral service will be Tuesday (May 31) at 11:15 a.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd. Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. The burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Monday from 4-7 at the funeral chapel.
