

Gregory L. Davoren “Greg”, 52, of Hartford, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2015. Greg was born on August 27, 1962 and was the son of Margaret (Conneely) Davoren and the late Anthony “Tony” Davoren. Greg grew up in Hartford’s “South End.” He was a skilled auto mechanic, owning and operating Fleetwood Auto of Middletown for more than twenty years. Greg loved to spend time with his son, teaching and sharing with Anthony all of his passions and Greg would beam with pride at his son’s accomplishments. In addition, he was a loyal and dedicated son to both his Mother and Gertrude. Greg had a passion for life and all it offered. He loved to travel having visited Amsterdam, Switzerland and Italy. On several occasions Greg, along with his friends, traveled cross country on their motorcycles enjoying all our country has to offer. He loved motorcycles, kayaking, mountain biking and anything that involved being outdoors. Greg was a founding member of the Hells Angels Hartford Charter. In addition, he was a dedicated advocate for all motorcyclist’s rights. Greg was often quoted as saying “Everyone that lives, dies, but not everyone that dies has lived” and he took those words to heart, making sure he lived his life to the fullest. Greg was a true “people person.” He loved to meet people, always learning something new from them. His charismatic personality was always felt whenever he entered a room and he will be missed by all who knew him. Greg leaves behind his son, Anthony Arthur Davoren and Anthony’s loving mother, Lynn Russell. Greg also leaves his mother, Margaret and his second mother, Gertrude Kanwischer. He will be missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephew and his many friends. In addition to his father, Greg was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Davoren.
Funeral services for Greg will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield with the burial immediately following at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
