

Jeannine (Dionne) Leonard, 88, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 60 years of the late Edmund R. Leonard, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026. Born in Ft. Kent, Maine on July 18, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Amelia (Dufour) Dionne. Jeannine worked for 25 years at Puritan Furniture in the accounting department. She enjoyed cooking and crocheting, donating many of her creations to nursing homes. She also was an avid reader of Danielle Steele novels and liked playing online Mahjong. More than anything, Jeannine cherished time with her family.
A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be forever missed by her two sons, Raymond Leonard and wife Noreen of Sellers, SC and Brian Leonard of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Lisa Leonard of Hamden and Donna Nguyen and husband Thanh of Wethersfield; five adored grandchildren, Elizabeth Githinji and husband Stephen, Blake Leonard and wife Killeen, Edgar Martinez, Tianna Nguyen and Darcie Martinez and husband Jean and five cherished great-grandchildren, Carver, Archer, Riley, Rey and Leon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members. In addition to her husband and parents, Jeannine was predeceased by three brothers, Jean, Roland and Leo Paul Dionne and two sisters, Carmen Pelletier and Irma Hafford.
Calling hours will be Saturday, May 30 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 12 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will be private.
