John S. Pantano, 59, of East Granby, beloved husband for 20 years of Elizabeth (Duby) Pantano, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday (March 3, 2013). Born on May 6, 1953 in Hartford, he was the loving son of Francesco Pace of Wethersfield and the late Salvatrice (Pantano) Pace. John worked for Coca Cola for 37 years, most recently as an account executive. John loved music, golf, photography, travel and loved to discuss politics. An avid animal lover, he opened his home and heart to many rescued animals. John is dearly remembered by his extended family and his large circle of friends, all of whom share fond memories of his charismatic energy and generosity. However, his greatest joy in life was his family. John’s final cherished memory was taking all his grandchildren to Disney World. In addition to his wife Elizabeth, John is survived by his son, Sean Adams-Pantano of Orlando, FL; two daughters, Courtney Kane and her husband Randy of New Hartford and Hillery Lundell and her husband Eric of New Britain; his three cherished and adored grandchildren who meant the world to him, Bradley Kane, Evandra Kane and Madeline Lundell; his sisters, Erina Hellyar and her husband Brian of Wethersfield and Tina Pantano of Cromwell; three nieces, Melissa, Samantha and Diana and two grand-nephews, Jayden and Antonio. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by his twin sister, Millie Rocco. John’s legacy will continue on in others through the gift of tissue donation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday March 7th at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield (everyone is asked to go directly to the church). Calling hours are Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. Entombment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford will be private.
