I was a regular at the Cafe.  Johnny was the light of my day when I worked in Hartford.   He always made me laugh.   

Paul told me about my buddy Johnny.    He will be missed forsure.     I'm grateful to have known him

John will be dearly missed. My family has so many great memories of going to Allegro, as my father’s office was right next door. His smile and friendliness brightened the days of not only my dad, but his entire office staff. It was always a treat, from the time my brothers and I were very little, to be able to pay him a visit. We wish his family comfort during this time, and they are all in our prayers.

To the Speziale family  I offer my heartfelt condolences for the loss of John. John and I were elementary schoolmates at Naylor school over 50 years ago. For the last 40 plus years John, Paul and I shared countless jokes and laughs everything I had breakfast at Allegro's. He was truly one of a kind!

There really are no words to express our sorrow.  John was a wonderful man who loved his family; Johnny was the apple of his eye.  He was a hard worker, talented, great with cars and a wonderful neighbor.   We will never forget how the Speziale Family welcomed us when we moved in across the street 23 years ago. Daniel and Johnny grew up together and had lots of fun together; nothing like childhood friends.  He always had a smile especially when he talked about Josephine. John and I were friends since we  were kids growing up in the south end of Hartford. He was always a great guy who everyone liked. God Bless you my friend and RIP.

My deepest condolences, love and prayers to you all. John was such a great man. Growing up in Allegros I spent almost every morning with John  & Paul from as young as I could remember all the way up through high school. I remember sneaking into the back to the candy stash they would hide for me in the freezer. Getting to go behind the counter to make my own hot cocoa. They both taught me how to cook my own breakfast on a few occasions. John would alway tell me silly jokes, and of course have the great debate of baseball and football with my father. So much of my childhood was spent with John and Paul that we referred to them as our uncles. After graduating I moved, and it was harder to get back over there, but I always tried to pop in when I could to surprise them. John was truly one of a kind, and he will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences. I have known John for over 50 years growing up together in the great Southend of Hartford. I currently live in Florida and regret not being able to attend his services. John was a very kind and generous man with what counted most, his compassion and genuine care for others. He was loved  by many and many owe him a debt of gratitude.
