
Lucille C. LaBella, 78, of Rocky Hill, passed away Sunday (June 12, 2011). She was born May 6, 1933 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Vincenza (Scionti) LaBella. Lucille graduated from Bulkeley High School with the class of 1951. Following high school she worked at Connecticut General in Bloomfield until 1978. She then attended Tunxis Community College where she attained an Associates Degree in nursing. In 1980 she started working at Hartford Hospital and retired in 1996. Following her retirement from Hartford Hospital she worked as a night nursing superervisor at Elm Hill Convalescent Home in Rocky Hill. Lucille was an EMT with the Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance Association and was a member of the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle in Rocky Hill, where she also sang in the choir and was a member of the Altar Guild. Lucille was predeceased by five brothers, Louis, Emmanuel, Santo, John, and Sebastian and two sisters, Philomena and Constance. She is survived by her best friend Sharon Yanke; a sister-in-law Dina LaBella; her special nephew and nieces Ralph LaBella, Vinci Imhoff, Sandra Beers and Anne Motta; and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be celebrated Saturday June 18th at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, 331 Orchard Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in the church memorial garden.
