Lucy M. (buccheri) Miano

Lucy M. (Buccheri) Miano, 82, of Rocky Hill, formerly of Wethersfield, loving wife of the late Salvatore P. 'Sonny' Miano, passed away suddenly, Sunday, (May 16, 2010). She was born in Hartford on June 3, 1927, and was the daughter of the late Sebastiano and Serafina (Vasquez) Buccheri. She was a longtime faithful communicant of Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield and a member of the Women's Club. She was a member of the Italian American Junior League and Boys Town of Italy. Lucy was devoted to her family and her smile and kindness will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Samiotis and Steven of Berlin; three sons, Paul S. Miano and Pamela of Southington, Robert J. Miano and Rosemarie of Glastonbury, and Thomas A. Miano and Susan of Rocky Hill; ten grandchildren, Brian, Lauren, Jason, Justin, Veronica, Alyssa and Andrew Miano, and Steven, Lori Lucy and Christopher Samiotis; sisters-in-law, Lucille A. Miano of Newington and Anne Chapman and Thomas of Rocky Hill; as well as nieces, nephews and many dear friends, including Clara, Lucille, Toni, and Mitzi, and a very special cousin, Jenny Cassarino. Besides her husband and parents, Lucy was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Frank Lombardi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, (May 20) at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Wednesday from 3-8 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
