

Luigi Capossela, 79, of Rocky Hill, beloved husband of Anna Luisa (Carbone) Capossela, lost his courageous battle to cancer on Sunday (November 20, 2011) surrounded by his loving family. Born November 21, 1931 in Chiusano San Domenico (Avellino) Italy, he was the son of the late Amato and Angela (Muollo) Capossela and has lived in Hartford prior to moving to Rocky Hill 30 years ago. He retired from Colts Firearms in Hartford, and served in the Italian military. Besides his wife of 48 years, Luigi is survived by four children; Amato Capossela of Rocky Hill, Roberto and Vivian Capossela of Wethersfield, Angela and John Waszak of Westford, MA and Anna and Bill Croce of S. Glastonbury; Cherished and loved grandfather to Joseph and Gabriella Capossela and their mother Tina Capossela of Newington, Alessandro and Antonio Capossela of Wethersfield, Julia, Lucy and Lauren Waszak of Westford, MA and Emily and Will Croce of S. Glastonbury. He also leaves behind his sister and brother-in-law Carmella and Giovanni Pescetelli of Rome, Italy and sister-in-law Assunta Capossela of Avellino, Italy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Lorenzo Capossela of Avellino Italy, sister Anna-Maria Aniello of West Hartford and grandson Michael Anthony Capossela. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of MILNE 1 and 2 of Gaylord Hospital for their loving service and endless support.
The funeral will be on Wednesday (November 23) beginning at 8:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel in Wethersfield.
