Luis Rodriguez

Luis M. Rodriguez, “Luisito”, 62, Hartford, beloved husband for 32 years of Carmen (Reyes) Rodriguez, passed away peacefully, September 1, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Luis was born on May 12, 1954 in Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Juan and Maria Rodriguez. Luis worked for many years in broadcasting as a radio host, working for 840AM, WRYM of Newington for 15 years. Luis enjoyed listening to old fashioned Spanish music. He especially enjoyed shooting pool and held the title of champion for several years in the league he belonged to. A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Luis loved to spend time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Luis will be missed by his sons, Luis Rodriguez Jr., Manny Sotomayor and his fiancée Betsy Ramos; daughters, Omayra Sotomayor and Melissa Rodriguez and her husband Yamil Ramos and his beloved grandchildren, Makayla, Noah, Aidan, Desiree, Emmanuel, Nicholas, Matthias, Isaiah, Marcus, Ashley, Priscilla and Yamilet. He also leaves behind his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (September 6) at 11:30 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
