Manuel Tavares Rego

Manuel Tavares Rego, 92, beloved husband of Helena Moura (Coutinho) Rego passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 while vacationing in Portugal. He was born October 7, 1922 in Santa Maria, Portugal the son of the late Antonio Tavares and Luiza (Moura) Rego. Manuel retired from the HARC Corporation of West Hartford in 1988. He enjoyed gardening and music and especially playing his guitar. Manual was an extremely devoted family man and he will be missed. Including Helena, his wife of 63 years, Manuel is survived by his four children and their spouses, Jose and Eduarda Rego of Danbury, Maria and Antonio Sousa of Wethersfield, Manuel and Anna Rego of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and Paul and Paula Rego of Santa Maria, Portugal. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Manuel was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will leave Monday, November 10th at 9 a.m. from the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Kane Street, Hartford.
