Maria was born on September 28, 1935 in Pratola Peligna, Province of L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy and was the daughter of the late Sante and Elena (Palombizio) DiBacco. Maria was a talented seamstress working for clothing retailers in the Hartford area. A faithful, devoted witness of Jehovah, she volunteered full time for many years to share her faith with others, something that brought her much joy and sustained her through difficult times. She loved gardening, cooking, and especially entertaining for her family and friends.
Maria is survived by her two sons, Giovanni Iacobucci and his wife Susan of Rocky Hill and Walter Iacobucci and his wife Lori of Coventry, four cherished grandchildren, Daniel Iacobucci and his wife Christina, Jennifer Cote and her husband Michael, Matthew Iacobucci and Andrew Iacobucci along with her great-grandson Brandon Iacobucci. She also leaves her brother Vittorio DiBacco and his wife Vittoria of Wethersfield, her sister Settimia Civitareale of Italy and her sisters-in-law Diana and Maria DiBacco. Besides her beloved husband of 50 years, Maria was predeceased by her brothers Mario, Lorenzo and Gino DiBacco and her sister Erminia Cerasani.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 9-11 a.m. at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield. A Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning in the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
