She was born on October 23, 1916 in Rochester, NY to Alvin and Anna (Koch) Andre. She had a wonderful career as the Development Director for the American Lung Association of Central New York. She remained an enthusiastic golfer and bridge player well into her eighties. Marie was an avid Syracuse University football and basketball fan, never missing a home football game for 42 straight seasons. She will be dearly missed by her devoted family and many friends, especially her dear friends and staff at Middlewoods. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen A. (McGuire) Heffernan and her son-in-law, James W. of Wethersfield; grandson, John W. Heffernan and his wife, Kathleen; her great grandchildren, Patrick, William and Conor John; her brother, Richard Andre and wife Genevieve; and nieces, Marcia Andre Havens and Denise White. Marie was predeceased by her husbands, John T. McGuire, Robert B. Bailey and G. Robert Taylor, as well as her cherished grandson, Brian James Heffernan. There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield.
