Mark H. Snyder

Mark H. Snyder, 51, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 28 years of Irena (Szumilak) Snyder, passed away surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Monday (October 20, 2014). He was born in Hartford on November 15, 1962, the son of the late Joel M. Snyder and Lillian (Marks) Wood and grew up in Wethersfield. Mark was a foreman with Progressive Sheetmetal LLC. He loved his job and everyone he worked with. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. A loving and devoted husband and father, he will be dearly missed by his wife, Irena who he loved so much and his three adored daughters, Natasha (Snyder) Langan and husband Brian of Manchester, Samantha Snyder and Holly Snyder, both of East Hartford. In addition, he is survived by his siblings, Ellen Browne, Suzanne Snyder and Carol Driscoll, all of MA, Catherine Snyder of Wethersfield, Emma Raner of PA and George Wood, Jr., as well as the Szumilak, Wazny, Swanson, Spada and Aziz families. He was predeceased by his step-father, George Wood, Sr.; brother, John Snyder and two sisters, Maria Wright and Joanne Snyder. The Snyder family would like to thank the staff of the Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center and Hartford Hospital for the excellent care given to Mark. A very special thank you to all family and friends for their love and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday (October 28) at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
