Mary Gilbert Waldrop

Mary Gilbert-Waldrop, 87, passed away on August 31, 2010. Mary was born in Suffield and lived in Hartford for many years. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Travelers Insurance Company. She was a long-time member of Farmington Avenue Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel Waldrop, brothers Alec, John and Francis Karpinski, and sisters Jennie, Natalie, Helen, Stephanie, Lucy and Edna. She is survived by her son, Cary Gilbert, and his wife Maria, and children Kellie and Christopher, her daughter Beverly Gilbert Leone and children Rachel and Hannah, and her daughter Linda Gilbert and former son-in-law William Forrest, as well as several nieces and a nephew. The family recognizes the staff of Avery Heights, Lucy Swift Unit, for the superb care and support provided for several years. There are no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to D’Esopo Funeral Chapel of Wethersfield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Soldiers Field, Northwood Cemetery, Windsor.
