Norma Jean (Stroehla) Swanson, 81, of Wethersfield, died Monday, September 19, 2011 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of Arthur and Julia (Zapp) Stroehla and lived in Hartford for 14 years prior to moving to Wethersfield 13 years ago. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Pratt & Whitney, Aetna, Travelers and Ames. She is survived by son, Peter Swanson and his wife Deborah of Shaftsbury, VT; a daughter, Ellen; a sister, Edna; a grandson and three great grandchildren. Funeral services and burial will be private.
