Rita (Sposito) Fote

Rita (Sposito) Fote, 92, of Rocky Hill, formerly of West Hartford, wife of the late Joseph Fote, Sr. for 63 years, died Tuesday (June 9, 2015) at her home. She was born March 11, 1923 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Angela (D’Amato) Sposito. Rita was a graduate of Bulkeley High School, was retired from the City of Hartford Board of Education and was a parishioner of Corpus Christi Church in Wethersfield. She was the beloved mother of Joseph Fote, Jr. DMD, John (Lorraine) Fote MD, Charles (Kaye Lynn) Fote, Donald (Denise) Fote, Mike (Sharon) Fote and Diane Payne, with whom she made her home. She also leaves 19 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two grandchildren, Donald Jr. and James; siblings, Julie, Pete, Ike, John, Danny, Sonny, Joe, Rose and Mary and a daughter-in-law, Elaine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, Wethersfield. Everyone is asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. There are no calling hours. Donations in Rita’s memory may be made to Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield, CT 06109.
