Robert Joseph Mangan

Robert (Bob) Joseph Mangan reached the end of his wonderful life on May 29, 2025 at the age of 70. He was born on January 1, 1955 to Richard and Madeleine Mangan of Naugatuck Connecticut. Bob is survived by his wife, Nancy, and his two daughters, Emily Mangan of Glastonbury CT and Elena Mangan of Winter Garden, FL, and his brother Richard (Monica) Mangan of Coatesville, PA.

Bob was graduated from Eastern Connecticut State University with BA degrees in Environmental Science and in Fine Arts. He began a career in the lawn care industry upon graduation. Forty two years later, he retired from TruGreen as a Regional Technical Manager.

Bob was a loving husband and father. No matter how often he traveled for work he was always a present and fun, loving dad. His wit and humor brought joy into our lives and the lives of many others.

The simplest pleasures in his life brought great joy to Bob. Between finding sanctuary in his garden, to taking interest in creatures, big and small, fishing, the ocean and hiking, Bob had a love for the outdoors . Summers were spent at the family cottage, traveling to national parks or the many trips to Disney World. Holidays and celebrations were important to Bob, always making family and friends feel special. Growing up in Naugatuck with his loving parents and brother, to having his own family with his wife and children, Bob would always say how grateful he was for such a wonderful life. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A private service will be held at D’Esopo Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to MARC Community Resources in Middletown, CT.
