

Rose (Airo) Mangiafico, of Wethersfield, the dearly beloved wife of Alfred 'Fred' Mangiafico for 56 years, passed away on Tuesday (January 15, 2008), in the loving arms of her family. Born in Middletown on November 10, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo and Concettina (Fazzino) Airo. She attended Middletown schools and graduated from Middletown High School. She retired from the Town of West Hartford, Physical Services Dept., where she worked as an Administrative Assistant to the Town Engineer and Engineering Staff for 20 years. Besides her devoted husband, 'The love of her life,' Rose leaves her three loving, devoted children and their spouses, Linda Nowacoski and her husband, Greg of Jamison, PA, David Mangiafico and his wife, Denise of East Longmeadow, MA and Janice Paladino of Wethersfield. She also leaves her precious grandsons, Christopher and Ryan Nowacoski and her caring sisters, Lillian Kuchalla of Naples, FL, Lorraine and her husband Richard Wagner of West Palm Beach, FL and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Annette Oliva. The family wishes to thank Dr. John McArdle of Yale University School of Medicine for his kindness and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 19, at 10:30 a.m. from the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd, Wethersfield followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will be at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
