Rosina (Colangelo) Carrabbia, 95, of Wethersfield, beloved wife for 70-years of the late Tonino Carrabbia, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday August 1, 2025. Born August 10, 1930, in Pacentro, province of L’Aquila, Italy, Rose was the daughter of the late Domenico and Marianina (Lepore) Colangelo. Rosina and her family came to America in 1963. She worked at Carlingswitch in Plainville for 30 years.
Rosina enjoyed the annual harvesting from her garden and cooking amazingly delicious meals. Her greatest joy in life, however, was spending time with her family. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Rosina will be forever missed by her family; Angela Penney and husband Paul of Briarcliff Manor, NY; Bice Carrabbia of Rocky Hill and Mario Carrabbia and wife Michelle of Cromwell. Sadly, Rosina was predeceased by her son, Peter Carrabbia. She is also survived by seven adored grandchildren, Angela Carrabbia; Lisa Ciaffaglione and husband Mark; Tony Carrabbia of Vernon; John Bouchard of Cromwell; Alexandra Bowers and husband Ben of Lake Oswego, OR; David Joseph and wife Beth of Newington and Shannon Penney of New York, NY; and eight great-grandchildren; Bryan, Luke, Kacie, Alexis, Alivia, Bianca, William and Celine.
Rosina was predeceased by beloved sister, Amelia (Colangelo) Ramunno; brother, Frank Colangelo and wife Filomena and sister, Angela Lalama and husband Attilio. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Denio Ramunno of Wethersfield.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 5, from 9-11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish - Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield. Entombment will follow in Mt.
