Salvatore "Sal" Lantieri

Salvatore “Sal” Lantieri, 82, of West Palm Beach, FL and formerly Wethersfield, beloved husband for 51 years of the late Marilyn (Tighe) Lantieri, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at the home of his loving daughter and son-in-law. Born in Hartford on October 21, 1942, he was the son of the late Vincent and Anne (Zito) Lantieri. Sal was the former owner of Lantieri’s Bakery in Hartford and then worked for the State of CT Health Department. Sal was also an officer of the South End Mutual Benefits Association, also known as “The Oxy" and was an honorary life member of the Rocky Hill Elks Club for 56 years. He enjoyed his time at the “round table” at Carmichael’s, trips to the casinos, time with friends and watching his grandson Dylan play football.

A loving father and grandfather, Sal will be forever missed by his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Wendy Lantieri of West Palm Beach, FL; his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Billy Zuerblis of Wethersfield and his five adored grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda, Sarah, Dylan and Zoey, as well as all his adopted kids from the “Z Spa.” He will also be fondly remembered by his special friends, Leo, Bobby, Pat, the Barone family and all his paisanos at Dunkin Donuts.

Sal’s biggest joy was watching his grandson play football. He never missed a game. In his memory, there will a celebration of Sal’s life on Saturday, March 22 from 12:30-3 p.m. at the Zuerblis residence, where the family will be streaming his grandson Dylan’s football game with the Bergamo Lions in Italy. Please join us for a drink and wear red in honor of Sal watching his grandson play football.
