Shawhabadin Latiff, 62, of Hartford, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Albion, Guyana on May 3, 1964, he was the son of the late Abdool Latiff and Bibi Z. Lalmohamed. Shawhabadin came to the U.S. in 1987. He worked as a chef at The Polytechnic Club in Hartford for many years. He enjoyed boxing and cooking and was an avid fan of tennis and Nascar.
Shawhabadin is survived by his daughter, Jenneyfer Latiff of Bloomfield; his sister, Nazeema Latiff; brothers, Nishan Latiff, Zaheed Latiff and Vinool Latiff of Hartford, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 29 from 9-11 a.m. concluding with a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
