Mrs. Frances Sue Redifer Showalter

Mrs. Frances “Sue” Redifer Showalter, 78, a resident of Weyers Cave, died at 2:26 Monday morning, Oct. 18, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
A daughter of the late Oscar and Edna Brown Redifer, she was born on June 3, 1932 in Rockingham County but lived the majority of her life in Weyers Cave. She attended Weyers Cave High School and was a school bus driver in Augusta County for 30 years. Mrs. Showalter was a member of the Weyers Cave United Methodist Church.
On July 22, 1950 she married David N. Showalter who survives her.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four children, Geraldine Skievaski of Grottoes; Steve Showalter and wife, Cindy of Advance, NC; Dale Showalter and wife, Marcella of Weyers Cave; and Gail Wine and husband, Paul of Mt. Sidney; ten grandchildren; Tiffni McHone, Tony Skievaski, Tyson Skievaski, Adam Showalter, Elizabeth Schelby, Jessica Showalter, Jake Showalter, Carly Wine, Mathew Wine and Sara Wine. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Madison Skievaski, Landon Skievaski and Taylor McHone; two sisters, Peggy Lucas of Weyers Cave and Dorothy Wonderly of Grottoes; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at eleven o’clock Thursday morning at the Weyers Cave United Methodist Church with the Rev. Peggy Packard officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 Wednesday evening at the Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral Home.
