He was born on November 22, 1928 in Port Chester, NY, and was the son of the late Ralph J. Mezzoni, Sr. and Philomena Parrella Mezzoni.
Ralph graduated from Stratford High School in Connecticut and was a machine shop supervisor at American Chain and Cable in Bridgeport, CT before retiring in 1982. In 1989, he and his family moved to the Mt. Sidney area. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church and formerly served as usher for many years and member of the property committee. He was a member of the Jaycees in Connecticut and worked with inner city children, he also was active with the Police Athletic League while in Connecticut. He was a former member of the Mt. Sidney Ruritan Club.
Ralph enjoyed working with his hands, especially with tools, machinery and woodworking. He loved his family and all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On December 12, 1949 he married Ruth B. Eads Mezzoni, who survives.
He is also survived by a son, Lawrence R. Mezzoni; a daughter, Anne-Marie Kondor and husband, Mike, all of Mt. Sidney; four grandchildren, Jennifer M. Howard and husband, Donnie, Michael Kondor, Jr. and fiancé, Ashley Cople, Alyssa Mezzoni and husband, John, Lauren Marie Grove and husband, Andrew; four great-grandchildren, Emmett, Allison, Joseph and Natalie; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Gooden; a brother, John Mezzoni and wife, Loretta, of Stratford, CT; several nieces and nephews; and a lifelong best friend, Bill Becker & wife Esther, of Bridgeport, Ct.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Louis Mezzoni.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, with Pastor Derek Boggs officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. There will be no public viewing.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Memorial Garden Fund at the church in his memory.
