Aubrey George Doucette

Doucette, Aubrey George, 79, Plympton, Digby Co. passed away peacefully on January 7, 2011 in Digby General Hospital. Born at home , in Plympton, he was a son of the late James and Gertrude (Melanson) Doucette. Aubrey was employed 26 years with Dept. of Highways. He loved to listen to Bluegrass music and also enjoyed playing the fiddle , guitar and harmonica. About 50 years ago, he used to play for dances . He also enjoyed working in the woods. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Cecile, daughters Louise (Dick) Larramore, Digby; Christine Doucette, Middleton; son Michael at home; sister Muriel Thibodeau, Plympton; brother Reggie Doucette, Sudbury, Ont.; grandchildren Danny (Karoline) Larramore, Mount Pleasant, Digby Co. ; Sandra (Mike ) Carty, Digby; Gregory (Amanda) Doucette, Sask.; and Bradley , Manitoba; great- granddaughters Emma and Cloe Doucette and Katherine Larramore, several nieces and nephews. Aubrey was predeceased by brothers Wilfred, Alvin, leonard, sister Kathleen brother in law Carl and sister in law Celena. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9pm Monday from Jayne’s Funeral Home , Weymouth North. Funeral service will be 2pm Tuesday from Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church , Plympton. Father Keith Billard will officiate with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Family flowers only . Donations in memory can be made to the charity of your choice.
