Ms Cheryll L. Cromwell

5 January, 1976 – 10 April, 2024
IN THE CARE OF

Jayne's Funeral Home

Cheryll L. Cromwell, aged 48 passed unexpectedly at home on April 10th, 2024. Born in January in New Brunswick and raised in Weymouth Falls by loving parents Hilda and Emerson Cromwell. She was loved by many and was looked up by others as an older sister and aunt. She took on the loving and passionate soul of her late mother Hilda and went on to touch the lives of many in her short but impactful life, she lives on forever in their memories.

A beautiful soul, Cheryll was a humble persistent force to be reckoned with. Cheryll was a deeply ethical and openhearted individual dedicated to fighting for equality and righteousness. Cheryll worked creatively and strategically outside of the box as an employee of the Province of Nova Scotia within Child Family Well Being as a Family Support Worker, Foster Parent and Case-Aide. Cheryll was dedicated to social justice, peace, human rights, anti-black racism and LGBTQ+ just to name a few. Her multiple roles within the NSGEU and BLM showcased her dedication and commitment to making a difference.

When Cheryll wasn't fighting and standing up for what she believed in she spent her leisure time tending to her flower beds and laying on the beaches of many destinations around the world. Her spirit will be deeply missed, but her legacy of compassion and love will continue to inspire others. She is survived by her only child daughter Rayhannah, nephews Jordan & Tyrell and Godchildren Jhevon, Willow, Elijah & Miguel. In her passing she is reunited with parents Hilda and Emerson and long lost friend Ian Richard Cromwell.

“It is up to all of us - Black, White, everyone - no matter how well-meaning we think we might be, to do the honest uncomfortable work of rooting it out...”

- Michelle Obama
