Mary Augusta Amirault

Amirault, Mary “Gusti” Augusta, 104 , Weaver Settlement, Digby Co. and formerly of New Edinburgh, passed away April 7, 2015 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Born on January 26, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Comeau) Doucette. She was a member of St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting with her sister Esther, in the sunporch, playing cards as well as the socialization and membership of the New Horizon’s Club. In the summer months she looked forward to picking wild blueberries in her special place, something she enjoyed very much. Surviving are her niece Shirley Chesal, Cape Breton; nephew Bernard Saulnier, Halifax; and nephew Delbert’s wife Elise Doucet, New Edinburgh; several great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gifford, sisters Esther, Melvina and Josephine, brother Camille and nephew Delbert. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9pm Friday from Jaynes Funeral Home , Weymouth North (902-245-2525). Funeral service will be 11 am Saturday from St. Bernard Roman Catholic Church. Father A. Panphile will officiate with burial in the Parish Cemetery. Donations in memory can be made to the St. Bernard Roman Catholic Cemetery.
