Newton was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He adored his family and loved spending time with them. Newton also enjoyed going to the casino and fishing. He was an avid LSU fan and always rooted for the Tigers.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of sixty six years, Liz Raffray; four children, Wayne Raffray (Lori), Kim Breaux (Kevin), Jill Raffray, and Brian Raffray (Beryl); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and one brother, Barry Raffray.
He is preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Raffray; two great granddaughters, Charlotte and Caroline Carville; parents, Newton Sr. and Josie Raffray; one sister, Bobbie Jo Bertrand and mother-in-law, Albertine Girior.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church
in Plaquemine from 8:30am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10am. Interment to follow in the Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
