Audrey was born into a large family in South Amboy, and enjoyed time with friends, reading, dances, roller skating and ice skating in her youth. As an adult, Audrey loved singing in the church choir, tending to her flower gardens, spending time at the beach, eating ice cream, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends. She attended Sayreville War Memorial high school and Drake Business School, after which she worked at New Jersey Bell Telephone Company.
After marrying William J. Long in 1953, the couple settled in Middletown where they raised their family. The Long Family were active members of the Middletown Reformed Church, and Audrey spent much time volunteering in the church and community. After retirement in 1995, they relocated to Whiting, where she and Bill attended Whiting Bible Church and Audrey sang in the choir. She also volunteered at Keswick Christian Retreat Center. Blessed with 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, Audrey loved her "grandmotherly" role best of all. She always commented how her Christian faith and family were the two most important things, and the way she lived her life was a reflection of this.
Audrey was predeceased by her husband, William after 63 years of marriage; her parents, George and Iona Evigan, her brothers, Ralph and George, and her sister, Jane Sumski. She is survived by her sister, Doris Jenkins, of Whiting, her sons, William (Amy), Saline, MI, Dale (Debra), Freehold and daughters, Elaine Eisenmann (Jeffrey), Howell, Allison Skowronski (Joseph) Doylestown, PA and Anita Gilbert (Robert) Vero Beach, FL and her 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
