David Milecki, 73, of Whiting, NJ, was peacefully called home to the Lord on May 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 30, 1951, in Trenton, NJ, to the late Henry and Helen Milecki.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Deborah Milecki; five children, Heather Milecki, Erin Micciulla [Marc], Adam Milecki [Jenna], Mark Milecki [Bonnie], and Kaycee Williams [Darnell]; and eight grandchildren, Madi Micciulla, Sam Micciulla, Ryne Milecki, Parker Milecki, Jamison Tormey, Campbell Tormey, Ellison Williams, and Rosie Williams. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Nicole Milecki, and sister Denise Johnson.
Dave was a devoted husband and especially enjoyed traveling with Deb during their retirement. Their final memorable trips together were to Aulani, Hawaii and a pilgrimage to The Holy Land. He was an amazing father and was engaged in all of his kids’ activities, from coaching soccer teams to coordinating backstage dance recital efforts. He continued to offer support and advice to his adult “kids,” from guiding his sons [and sons-in-law] on being loving and supportive husbands and fathers to planning successful financial portfolios.
His unwavering faith and commitment to spread the message of Jesus Christ, resulted in a life of meaningful acts of love and service. He was a dedicated volunteer at the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal convent, where he provided hands-on support to the homeless community at the Father Benedict House in Atlantic City. He supported his church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, as an altar server and soup kitchen chef; he also initiated screenings of The Chosen and discussions with parishioners. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus and deeply admired their mission. Dave helped low-income homeowners repair homes via Good Works in Coatesville, PA. He graduated from The Encounter School of Ministry, a two-year program, to learn how to be a more effective evangelist. Following his diagnoses with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, he organized a weekly prayer group for ALS patients, family, and caregivers; the group was appreciatively sponsored by the Diocese of Trenton.
Dave positively impacted his community and will be truly missed. He served as a Manchester Township Police Department Auxiliary Officer (retired as an Auxiliary Sgt.) for six years to convey his utmost respect to law enforcement officers. He also served the homeless as an overnight volunteer at the Ocean County Code Blue warming center. Dave and Murphy, his beloved Chocolate Labrador Retriever, provided therapy dog support at elementary and special needs schools, military bases (troop deployments and homecomings), and a New Jersey State Police special event. He also volunteered at American Recreational Military Services (ARMS) New Jersey events. Dave was a mentor via the Ocean County Mentoring Program, a volunteer program that provides safe and mature friendships to elementary school children who may not have traditional family support.
Dave attended St. Hedwig Grammar School in Trenton, NJ and graduated from Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, NJ (Class of 1969). He attended King's College in Wilkes-Barre, PA, where he played football and graduated with a B.S. in Data Processing. He started his professional career with the State of New Jersey as a Computer Operator and retired as a Program Manager of the New Jersey Division of Pensions, New Jersey Office of Information Technology, and New Jersey Department of Institutions and Agencies.
Dave enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching football (Fly, Eagles Fly), weight training, fishing, hunting, gardening, going down the shore, Polish food (Czarnina and Golumpki), and Toyota trucks.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request considering making a donation in Dave’s name to the 1) Joan Dancy and pALS (people with ALS) Foundation (https://ssl.charityweb.net/joandancyandpals/), 2) ALS United Mid-Atlantic (https://alsmidatlantic.org/donation/), or 3) Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal (https://www.franciscansisterscfr.com/donate).

A funeral liturgy will be offered on Friday, May 30, at 10:45 am from St Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church, 30 Schoolhouse Rd, Whiting. Committal was private.
