

Ethel Frances Alexandersen was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on October 31, 1923. She passed away on April 24, 2022 at The Pines at Whiting where she lived for 17 years after her dear husband Edward’s death. While living at The Pines, Ethel’s gracious heart led her to volunteer with the Welcoming Committee, Visually Impaired, Scholastic Scholarship Committee and Hamilton.
Ethel and Eddy lived in Crestwood Village VI for twenty years. Ethel was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Elizabeth RC Church in Whiting. She also sang with The Crestwood Chorus.
Prior to moving to N.J., Ethel worked at Banker’s Trust. She started out as a “check sorter” and rose to become a Banker’s Trust Officer.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and William Dougherty, Fort Belvoir, VA and her daughter, Marilyn Stufano, Whiting, N.J. and 6 grandchildren. Her grandson, Arthur, perished in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Ethel is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Her life has been full. The family feels great joy knowing that she is now reunited with her husband, grandson, three sisters and one brother. We bless her life lived to the fullest.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church on Friday, 20 May 2022 at 10:45 a.m. followed by Interment at BG William C. Doyle Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting, NJ is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
