William Norton Kreger

William Norton Kreger, 89, of Whiting passed away peacefully surrounded by family at AristaCare at Whiting on Monday, May 15, 2017. William owned and operated Kreger & Sons in Scotch Plains for many years. He was a carpenter in rehabilitation more recently at Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside for 15 years, retiring in 1996. He was a graduate of Plainfield High School, Class of 1946. Born in Plainfield, he resided in Scotch Plains most of his life before coming to Whiting in 1999. William is predeceased by a son Gary Kreger in 2007 and a grandson Scott Makenna in 1990. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Mildred “Millie” nee Vernon Kreger. He is also survived by two sons, Brian Kreger & his wife Deb of Flemington, and Bruce Kreger of Ashville, NC. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Bradley Kreger, Nicole Neitzey and Alessa Kreger; along with three great grandchildren, Cole & Logan Kreger, and Alex Neitzey. William also leaves a brother Robert Kreger of CA., and two sisters in law; Maureen E. Kreger & Patricia Kreger.
