Of all the places she ever lived as a military child, she loved St. John’s the most. She loved its beauty and didn’t even mind the freezing cold weather. She always hoped to return one day for a visit. Even after all her years of being raised in the U.S., she never once converted to drinking coffee. Give Antonia her hot tea with cream and sugar and she was a happy girl! Add a piece of toast and you have her favorite breakfast!
After 32 years of working for United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls, she retired in 2021.
Antonia (Toni) was married to Pierre Young of Wichita Falls. She was an outstanding mother to her three sons, Chris Robertson, Barry Robertson, and James Robertson whom she loved with all of her heart.
Her daughter-in-law, Brenda Robertson, was also loved by Toni. She lit up with joy at any mention of any of her grandchildren, Timothy, Clayton, Patrick, Emily, and Aryn, and her great granddaughter Rylie.
How she loved them! Family was always important to Toni. The more the merrier!
She loved to bake cakes, banana, pumpkin, and zucchini bread. She shared her delicious treats as a way of showing love to family, friends, and coworkers.
Toni had another great love in her life and his name was “Biscuit!” Her little Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix breed dog gave Toni many happy hours and much comfort. Biscuit in turn loved every moment with Toni except for one. How Biscuit hated his bath time! He would hang his head over Toni’s shoulder like a very sad baby as she carried him down the hall.
Toni’s life was marked by kindness. She cared about others and was always willing to put them first. She believed with all of her heart that the way she could show love to the Lord was by caring for others, and she did that for many with grace and dignity. As her family, we feel a debt of gratitude for the way she lovingly and tirelessly cared for our mom.
Toni is preceded in death by her mother and by her first husband, Mark Robertson. She is survived by her husband Pierre Young, her son, Chris Robertson and his wife Brenda, grandchildren, Timothy, (wife Ashtin), Clayton, Patrick, and Emily, and by her son, Barry and granddaughter Aryn, her son James, and grand dog “Cash”; Great granddaughter Rylie, her dad, Rojelio Herrera, brothers Rojo Herrera (wife Debbie) and Barry Herrera (wife Rosemary), sister, Delia McMillan (husband Doug) as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, her dear friend Terri, and many others in her community.
Her name, Antonia, means “priceless, praiseworthy and beautiful.” That is who she will always be in the hearts of all who loved her.
Memorial Services will be 1 PM March 8, 2025 at City of Hope Church in Wichita Falls, TX.
