Charlie, who was vibrantly healthy, was struck by a car that ran a red light. He had been in a coma from shortly after arriving at the hospital until removed from life support, seven days later.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday at Cottonwood Cemetery in Bryson, Texas, under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home. Viewing is open on Tuesday and Wednesday for Charlie’s room.
Charlie was born on December 21, 1918 in Kaufman, Texas. Charlie Married Hazel Harris, of Bryson, on May 29, 1942 in Walters, Oklahoma. Hazel passed away and is at Cottonwood Cemetery awaiting his arrival. Charlie will be laid to rest beside his loving wife, mother of the couple’s three sons. Charlie was a WWII Veteran, proudly serving the people of the United States.
Survivors include his three sons; Carlson T., Billy Charles, and Jody Wade Stewart, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
