Dennis Perry Farris

Dennis Farris, 90, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, July 16, 2011 at a local hospice facility. Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Chaplain Harvey McMurry. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

Dennis was born February 27, 1921 in Wichita Falls to Leonard and Mamie (Harris) Farris. He married Vivian M. Gee September 5, 1942 in Walters, OK and together they raised three children. He has lived in Wichita Falls all his life and was the owner of Farris Dry Cleaning. Dennis was an avid bowler who loved his family and friends and life in general. He was a Baptist by faith.

Mr. Farris is preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, Prentice Farris, Joe Farris; and sisters, Lois Cook, Dorothy Lay, Betty Eldridge, and Bernice Thompson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Vivian Gee Farris; devoted children and spouses, Perry “Pete” and Valerie Farris of Sherman, TX; Gloria and Donald Moer of Wichita Falls; Tracey Roy and Debbie Farris of Wichita Falls; ten grandchildren and spouses, Kristie and Bill Henning, Dee and Cookie Moer, Joyce and Don Barnard, Lelah Farris, Tony Frazer, Michele and Todd Thomas, Clifton Farris, Angela Farris, Kenton and Laura Farris, Kayla Farris; great-grandchildren, James, Jenna, Hannah, Emma, Courtney, Julia, Cameron, Rustin, Tres, Addison, Ella; and one great-great-grandchild, Aiden.

Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2011 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
