He was born on December 25, 1935 in Abilene, TX to the late James E. Wood and Lois Parkerson Wood. He was a salesman and had served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two daughters, Cindy Bauer of North Richland Hills, TX and Kim Kunkel of Terral, OK; one brother, Bill Wood of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Chris Kunkel, Richard Bauer, III and Angie Bauer; great grandchildren, R. K. Bauer, IV, Codi Bauer and Tristan Kunkel and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Heidi and Cameron Kunkel and a sister, Blanton Edwards.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
