Don was born on February 2, 1937, in Fort Worth, Texas to Jesse F. Huston and Bertha Mae (Sanders) Huston. He had two brothers, Roy Huston and Jesse F. Huston Jr. In 1961 he graduated from MSU with a BBA Degree and also married the love of his life, Betty Jean Wehba on May 28 in Vernon, Texas. They had 2 daughters, Melisa and Angela and 1 son, Raymon.
He joined the Army where he had a full career and retired from the Civil Service and then eventually retired from working in the Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program for WFISD. He was a member of Faith Village Church of Christ, Texas Army National Guard, Sunrise Optimist Club and Cedars of Texoma.
Don was a provider. He provided his family with laughter, warmth, and light. He wore many hats: Candyman at church, Santa Clause during the Christmas season, loving husband, father, and Jidi to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed being near to his friends and family, which is why he and Betty threw an annual Christmas party that filled their home with people they cared about. He never hesitated to crack a joke when the timing was right, and when he smiled, his eyes lit up the room he was in. Don was the most efficient “supervisor” in the kitchen, assuring that he delegated all responsibilities to his kids and grandkids to keep things running smoothly. He was never without a large glass of sweet tea, his quick wit, and his wife, who he loved dearly. In fact, it was a testament to the love he provided that he was constantly surrounded by his family. He is greatly missed.
Don is preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Roy Huston and Jesse F. Huston Jr.
He is survived by his wife Betty J. Huston, daughters; Melisa Bedunah (Steve), Angela Jackson (Kent), son, Raymon Huston (Melissa), 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
