
Memorial Services will be conducted at Central Christian Church, 312 Grant St., Wichita Falls, TX on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Richard Cook of Central Christian Church officiating. Services are entrusted to Hampton Vaughan Crestview.
Dwight was born February 13, 1947 in Waterville, Maine to Olan and Claribel (Tibbetts) Cummings. He attended high school in Belgrade, ME, joining the United States Air Force directly after graduation. He married his sweetheart, Barbara Yates, on August 9, 1967 and they lived in Tacoma, Washington. Dwight was an aircraft mechanic and instructor during the Vietnam era. After discharge they moved back to Texas and he began a career in finance. He worked for Dial Finance, World Finance, and Security Finance in a span of 20 years and 22 moves. Moving back to Wichita Falls for a more settled situation, he worked for First Wichita National Bank and City National Bank in succession, creating collection and recovery departments for them. When the opportunity arose, Dwight bought REDCO Loan and eventually was the creator of Rainbow Financial Software, now called Genesis Financial.
Active at Central Christian Church, he has served as a deacon, elder, teacher, and lay minister, always giving God the glory for his life.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, their daughter, Heather Wagner and husband James, of Sheppard Air Force Base, and their son, Matthew Cummings of Wichita Falls. He also is survived by sisters Marilyn Bickford and husband, Donald of Belgrade, ME; Sylvia Clark and husband, Alex of Roswell, NM; Jean Worthley and husband, Carl, of Norridgewock, ME; and a brother, Bruce Tibbetts, of Augusta, ME. The pride of his life was three grandchildren, Kaleena, Ryan, and Joshua Wagner.
