

Earl W. Thomas, 74, of Wichita Falls passed away Friday, October 22, 2010. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Pastor John Gardner of Legacy Church officiating, assisted by Pastor Nathaniel Carr and Pastor William Carnley. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the auspices of the Air Force Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Thomas was born inTallahassee, FL. on July 4, 1936. He married Maxine Boyd in Jacksonville, Texas. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Earl proudly served in the U. S. Air Force and retired in 1975 and later went to work for the U.S. Postal as a letter carrier and retired there also. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife, Maxine Thomas, Wichita Falls; children, Margaret Johnson, Shirley Calton, Linda Jones, all of Wichita Falls, Lenon Thomas, Tuscon, Az., Jose Thomas, El Paso, Tx., Denise Thomas, Wichita Falls, Joan T. Hairston, Tampa, Fl., and Gene Thomas, St. Petersburg, Fl.; grandchildren, Adrian Colbert, Rodney Thomas, Brian Calton, Lenon Thomas, Jr., Marcus Thomas, Raymond Jones, Ramona Jones, Maxine Thomas, Drew Mathis, Dewayne Brigham, Marquis Thomas, Brittany Thomas, Michelle Calton, Darian Calton, Drake C. Johnson, Jose Thomas, Erica M. Hairston, Jasmine Thomas, Christian Thomas, Joseph C. Thomas, Carolyn A. Thomas and Marissa Thomas; great grandchildren, Janessa Jones, Destiny Brigham, Allijah M. Hairston and D’Marian Brigham; several great great grandchildren; sister, Doris Hardy Davis and brother, Larry Hardy, both of Florida. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by a son, Earl Thomas, Jr. in 1978 and a daughter, Cynthia Thomas in 2008.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, they are Rodney Calton, Brian Calton, Marcus Thomas, Raymond Jones, Drew Mathis and Dewayne Brigham. A family meal will be served at Legacy Church after services. The family expresses our sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your presence here today in tribute to the memory of his life.
