A visitation with the family will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Interment at the National Cemetery in Dallas/Ft. Worth will be at a later date.
Hank was born on April 24, 1945 in Havana, Cuba to Enrique Camacho and Delia Delgado Camacho. His family moved to Louisiana when he was 3 years old and he became a naturalized citizen at age 17. He always loved airplanes, was in the Civil Air Patrol as a teenager, and had his private pilot’s license as a young man. Hank joined the United States Air Force in 1968 and was always proud of his time as an enlisted man. After graduating from LSU in 1971 he went to Officer Training School, was commissioned in 1972, and decided to make the Air Force his career. He was an aircraft maintenance officer during most of his career and loved working with the young men and women who “kept ‘em flying.” He retired at Sheppard AFB after 28 proud years of service, first in munitions, then maintenance and finally field training.
A devoted husband and father, Hank always put his family’s security and comfort first during all those years of moving with the military. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathy, and three sons: Matthew, his wife Sarah and their children Kya Marie and Enrique Canon of Fulshear, Texas; Joel and his son Tyler of Wichita Falls; and Christopher and his fiancé Laura and their daughter Kadence Grey of Austin. He is survived also by his dear sister, Liana. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard.
The family gives special thanks to the medical staffs of House of Hope and Wichita Falls Hospice for their excellent and loving care and to our pastor, vicar and congregation at Our Redeemer for constant prayers and support; also to Care Team, especially Rene Boydston. My God bless all of you.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund, 4605 Cypress Ave, Wichita Falls, TX 76310; Good Samaritan Fund at House of Hope/Presbyterian Manor, 4600 Taft Blvd, Wichita Falls 76308; or to the charity of one’s choice.
