Ernest Mauricio Hernandez

Visitation will be held 10 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 11 AM at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wichita Falls, TX.

Mr. Hernandez was born May 9, 1951 in Wichita Falls, TX to Frank and Becky (Mauricio) Hernandez. He married Hope Hernandez August 4, 1974 in Wichita Falls, TX. He was a member of Our Lady Guadalupe Church and worked as a telephone technician. He loved going to the 50 plus zone. He enjoyed running the tables at various pool halls, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Watching and also coaching boxing. He was willing to help others and enjoyed all his grandkids activities. His last thing he said to the nurse was “Family was very Important”.

Survivors include, wife, Hope Hernandez; daughter, Becky Merkel; grandchildren, Adrianna Simmons and husband Eric, Celeste Hernandez, and Jeremy Merkel, Jr; great grandson, Hudson Simmons; mother, Becky Hernandez; sisters, Lollie Garbow and husband Dale, Terry Hernandez, Eva Luna and husband Joe, and Dollie Jaramillo; brothers, Frank Hernandez and wife Vickie, and Eddie Hernandez; brother and sister in laws, Connie and Frank Perez, Mary and Pete Garza, Irene and Bob Butterfield, Stella and Louie Barrientes, David and Connie Maldonado, Raul and Cathy Maldonado; several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father; son, Jason Hernandez; nephew, Vincent Perez; brother-in-law, Ben Jaramillo and brother - in - law, Raymond Maldonado.
