Frances Ikeler

Willie Frances Ikeler was born January 13th 1934 in Tyler, Texas. She married Larry Joe Ikeler in Anson, Texas. Frances Cole Ikeler and Larry lived in Brunswick, Maine with their first child Joe Edward as Larry was in the Navy and stationed there. Many memories were made there early in their marriage. After spending time in Anson, Texas they ended up in Wichita Falls, Texas. There are now two more children James Robert (Jimmy) and Steven Eugene. Fran was homemaker and accomplished seamstress sewing all of her boy’s shirts for years. She also cared for Laura Culberson; her nephew’s daughter, which was a blessing for her as she always longed for a daughter of her own. Fran and Larry attended Hillcrest Baptist Church which later was Woodhaven all their lives. When Fran thought she was done having children another boy came along David Lee. With support from their children Fran and Larry held a part time job at the Southside Girls Club for close to 40 years. Lindsay Patterson Greer become part of Fran’s family while being cared for she became the daughter she never had. Visitation will be on Friday the 8th from 6-8 pm at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home for family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Saturday the 9th in the chapel at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas, Pastor David Odom officiating. Graveside services will follow at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park. Frances was preceded in death by her husband Larry Joe Ikeler, her parents Henry Edward Cole and Anna Ruth Cole, Brothers Bob Cole and Jack Cole; Sisters Norma Cole, Lucy Martin, Callie Culberson, Shirley Hensley, Pat Zimmerman and Great-grandson Cameron Moses Ikeler. Surviving relatives include children Joe Edward Ikeler wife Lisa; James Robert Ikeler wife Billie; Steven Eugene Ikeler; David Lee Ikeler wife June and Lyndsay Patterson Greer. Grandsons James his twin Robert; and Clyde Ikeler; Grand-daughter Breanna Greenway; Grandson Michael Ikeler; Kendra F. Ikeler and 17 great-grandchildren; Siblings Marie Helen Williamson her twin Mary Ellen Merritt; Betty Ashlock; and Ed Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.
