Roy Shiderly, 57, passed away Friday, June 25, 2010 in Wichita Falls. Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at the Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Keith Jenkins officiating. Services are under the direction of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home.
Roy was born May 7, 1953 in Williams Air Force Base, AZ to Daniel Charles Shiderly and Jo Ann Shiderly Nelson. He was raised in a military family, living in several states, as well as Japan and Germany. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in May of 1971; then attended and graduated from Southern Methodist University in December of 1974 with his Bachelor degree. Roy was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in 1975, worked for 35 years as a computer specialist and was a consultant for Apple Computers. His greatest treasures were his cat, Carmina, his car, and computers. He was preceded in death by his father in 1975. His family greatly admired his insatiable quest for knowledge and his empathy for others.
Surviving relatives include his mother, Jo Ann Nelson of Wichita Falls; one brother, Daniel Charles Shiderly, Jr. and his wife, Kay of Humble, TX; three sisters, Sandra McCarthy and her husband, John; Gail Ferguson and her husband, Skip Chappell; and Cathy Jackson and her husband, James, all of Wichita Falls; five nephews; and his 14 year old cat, Carmina.
