Lester was born on May 20, 1945, in Dallas, Texas, to Lester W. Coplen, Jr., and Ruth Long Coplen. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy, and worked as a Senior Sonar Tech from 1963 – 1972. He cherished his family and was a practical man who enjoyed bringing joy to everyone. He was lovingly called PawPaw Bill and Uncle Bill to those who loved him most.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents Lester Coplen and Willie Leslee Coplen; James Augustus and Ruby Cathleen Long; and brother Terry Lynn Coplen.
Lester is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Leslee Anne and Mario Berreles, Jr.; grandchildren Josh Roach, Audrina Berreles, Adriana Farriell, and Renae Berreles; great grandchildren Levi Farriell Weston Farriell and Dallas Berreles; nephews Chad Coplen and Ty Coplen; niece Kim Coplen Green; the love of his life Laverne Beauchamp; her daughter and son-in-law that he loved like his own Diana and Guy Monagas, and their children and grandchildren; stepfather Hayden Parmelly; lifelong friend Butch Holland; numerous cousins; and aunt Kathleen Young.
A celebration of Lester’s life is scheduled on Friday, March 20th, at 1:15 PM at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas.
